From Reedy Creek to Granville with fashionable love

Hey there fashion lovers! I hope you liked my last piece. It really came from the heart. This week I want to talk about an unbelievable fashion house that is as big as heaven and as respected as royalty can be. This fashion house needs no more introductions… I give to you, Christian Dior (also known as only Dior).

The fashion house of Christian Dior was open in 1946 by an extremely talented artist called Christian Dior. This brilliant designer was born in the small seaside town of Granville, Manche in France. His designs were and are still consider chic, glamorous and absolutely impeccable.

I would like to look at the evolution of Dior throughout the years until the latest collection produced by the house.

For the 1960’s, Marc Bohan gave to the Dior House a focus on the glamorous women, the Housewives that still have a very chic and elegant lifestyle. This collection for me personally brings to mind the perfect society wife.

This feel of glamour, style and elegance was kept by Marc Bohan as a constant throughout the 1970’s, with a hippie, love and peace feeling.

For the 1980’s, where Pop, Rock and Androgyny was a huge part of the global culture, the House of Christian Dior also move forward introducing these elements into his designs, still keeping the elegance and glamour that is signature of this powerhouse.

During the 1990’s, The House of Dior put John Galliano as the Creative Director making the designs in the collections for this era more sexy, giving women the ability to feel desirable and sexy with glamour and elegance.

For 2000’s, Dior became a more edgy house, keeping up with the millennium and the beginning of a new era. The creative director of this fashion house at the time was still John Galliano, whose designs are bold and innovative pieces of art.

The latest collection produced by Dior is its Fall/Winter 2011/2012. This collection follows the Christian Dior signature style… Elegance with a twist!

Love,

Stef

Hey there fashion lovers! My name is Estefania (but my dear friends call my Stef) and I live in a small suburb on Gold Coast, Australia, called Reedy Creek. I study Health Science to eventually become a Medical Scientist, which is great. However, I have a little thing that burns in my heart. That is my eternal, unconditional and passional love for fashion. There is something about the colours, the fabrics, the cuts, the glitz, the creations, the minds behind it that makes me feel like a hopeless romantic every time I think about clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, fragrances, and everything that is involved in the world on my lover, Fashion. I was given the amazing opportunity to tell you fashionistas every week about this love affair of mine.

This week I would love to talk about one of my every day inspirations… Shoes! Especially, I would like to talk a bit about this one man that I love very much and his designs. I introduce you now to Mr. Christian Louboutin. This Parisian man has been creating heavenly shoes since 1976 and every design that he has created over the years captures the feel of femininity and sex-a-peel of sexy, sassy, powerful women like no other man on earth has.

His latest collection is one of the most beautiful artwork available to look at. With designs full of bright colours, mixed patterns, patent, shine and very radical but extremely amazing spikes which is a very hot and sexy trend and also using a very risky but exciting trend, the colour blocking.

From his 2011 collection, I would match shoes like the Bianca Tie-Dye Platform Pump, the Bianca Camel Platform Pump, the Bianca Black Patent Platform Pump, the Lady Peep Glittered Slingback, the Pigalle Glittered and the New Delic Glittered Pump with sleek, classic pieces such as those from the Victoria Beckham new Spring 2012 collection, or pieces from the Hugo Boss Women’s collection black label autumn/winter 2011/2012, or pieces that are as chick, classy and glamorous as the pieces in these collections, but at a much cheaper price. In this collection, the shoes lovers can also find creations like the Lady Peep Multi-Color Slingback, the Lady Peep Slingback, the Lady Peep Ecotrash Slingback, the Pigalle Spikes, the Samira Strauss Pump, the Lassagi Magenta Patent Pace-up Pump, the Brandaplato Black Fishnet Bootie, the Maggie Chain-Toe Platform Pump, and many more that are more wild, sexy and edgy designs. These allow the users to be playful and help them to take risks when combining outfits with these shoes.

For me personally, Christian Louboutin is one of the very few shoe designers that have the ability to establish trends and create shoes that are always innovative but always will be considered classic pieces that will be wearable in any era and for any occasion.

Talk to you very soon…
